The Espresso Book Machine
One of the tools we use to help our authors is the Espresso Book Machine, an incredible work of engineering made by On Demand Books. It will print, bind, and trim a paperback book in about the time it takes to make a cup of coffee.
We named our machine "Amelia" in homage to the fearless female aviator, Amelia Earhart. Since 2013, Amelia has produced over 50,000 books right in the heart of Berlin, Maryland!
There are Espresso Book Machines all around the world but Amelia is the only one on Delmarva!
Printing Details and Pricing
The EBM prints only black and white interiors with full color covers on a matte paperback cover. The minimum page count is 50 pages and depending on the total page count, the trim sizes available can range from 5x5 up to 8x10. Each book takes about five minutes to print. There is no minimum order and we can ship anywhere in the U.S. unless you'd like to swing by our Berlin office for a free pickup option.
